An Open House is scheduled for viewing Jefferson County preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps at Ford Park on Thursday, January 17, 2013.
Dear Local Officials,
This is a reminder regarding next week’s Public Open House.
As we move forward with the release of the Jefferson County preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps, a Public Open House is scheduled in Beaumont on Thursday, January 17th. The Open House is a way to increase public awareness of flood risk by providing citizens an opportunity to see the new maps first hand and ask questions of the FEMA, community leaders and project experts.
The FEMA team is working with Don Rao, Jefferson County Director of Engineering. Mr. Rao was provided a toolkit with flyers, media releases and other materials to publicize the event. Between now and the January Public Open House, we encourage community officials to promote the event and inform citizens in their area of the meeting through any available channel using the templates in the toolkit. If you would like to access the tool and assist in promoting the meeting in your community, the toolkit can be found here under the Local Official Tools and Templates section at the bottom of the page.
Community stations with tables to display Preliminary maps will be set up at the Open House. We ask each community to attend the entire Open House and staff a station, which will provide residents an opportunity to get answers to their community-specific questions. Please bring a copy of the Preliminary maps for your community to review.
The Open House is scheduled for:
Date: Thursday, January 17, 2013
Time: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Ford Park Exhibit Hall, 5115 IH-10 South, Beaumont, TX 77705
