BEAUMONT – Nim Kidd, new chief of emergency management for the state of Texas, will be the speaker for the 10th annual Salute to The Real American Heroes fund-raiser for The LIT Foundation.
The event will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8 at Wesley United Methodist Church.
The event, which honors first responders and military personnel, raises funds for scholarships for LIT students who are majoring in criminal justice, emergency medical technology, regional police academy, regional fire academy and homeland security.
All first responders and active military that are in uniform and their spouses will be treated to a dinner, provided by the Cooks Two Dozen Plus, Inc.
